SCICA Inaugural Exhibition
Steampunk: Art & Technology
November 2nd through December 30th
The Santa Cruz Institute of Contemporary Art in Santa Cruz, CA. has been around since 2004 promoting contemporary art in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We have moved from space to space based on our budget, but we are about to inhabit our permanent location at the new Tannery Arts Center in Santa Cruz, with a 2,000 sq. ft. exhibition space. As our inaugural exhibition we are putting on a Steampunk show that will include, 2D, 3D, Fashion, Music, Writings and more. The exhibit will run from November 3rd through the end of December. We want to highlight this genres artistic and technological orientation. As you know, through out California and particularly in the Bay Area is a wealth of Steampunks working in a wide variety of mediums.
‘Alter Eco’
“Alter Eco” the exhibition at the Santa Cruz Institute of Contemporary Art (SCICA) at the Tannery Arts Center. It features a handful of prominent local and regional artists — Ryan Jones, Steve Laufer, Melissa Cacioppo, Crystal Kamoroff, Jody Alexander, Fanne Fernow, Michael Myers and Welsh — meditating on the natural world through the metaphorical lens of the landscape.
