The Santa Cruz Institute of Contemporary Arts proudly presents the second annul "SoWat Now!" Festival of Contemporary Performance, November 3rd, 4th, and 5th featuring a diverse showing of Performing artists from Santa Cruz, the Bay Area and around the world.
Contemporary Performance offers a snapshot of our community and our society through a multitude of mediums. The Festival will showcase over 20 performers and Performace groups as well as host workshops and open informal discussions on issues relating to contemporary performance.
The festival kicks off with an opening reception at the Attic on the First Friday in November at 5pm preceeding three nights of great performances at three venues downtown all with in a blocks walk.
The SoWat Arts district will unfold to creativity both in the venues and on the streets. Some of those on the bill include International performance artist Sha Sha Higby, plus Jessica Fudim, Mir and a Company, Crach Burn and Die Dance, Shadow City, Body Cartography, Richard Stockton, Shelly Adams-Stryker, Iman Lizarazu, Lisa Christensen, Lauren Crux and more. Performance will take place at the 418 Project, Motion Pacific and Community Television Studios.
