Natural Bridges, Santa Cruz as " Night-Light" winds down the coast on West Cliff
SANTA CRUZ INSTITUTE OF CONTEMPORARY ARTS
On Thursday, September 21st 2006 five hundred, 15,000,000 candle power spotlights will light the night along three miles of the Santa Cruz, CA coastline. “Night-Light” will bring together community to illuminate the message of peace. Artist and SCICA Co-Director Kirby Scudder along with hundreds of volunteers from the community will turn on the 500 lights at 9pm for one hour in the communal celebration of peace.
These brilliant spotlights weighing 14lbs each and totaling 7000 pounds will be placed every 30 feet winding their way down West Cliff drive ending at Pacific Avenue. The project will involve 200 volunteers manning the lights.
Night-Light
Each light will be numbered and signed. The lights will be sold for $80 each to support the project as well as to raise money for future projects that will lead to making “Night-Light” an annual event.
